Museums and galleries are often a great resource

  • Art Gallery of NSW
  • ARTEXPRESS - an annual exhibition of artworks created by students from government and non-government schools for the Higher School Certificate Examination in Visual Arts
  • ArtsConnectEd (US) - explore the collections of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the Walker Art Center.  The Museum Educators have created a range of interactive resources and activity ideas, along with audio/video resources
  • Museum of Contemporary Art
  • National Gallery of Australia  - check out the Learning tab
  • SFMOMA (US) - has a wonderful feature that aims to help visitors of the online exhibits (or the physical museum) understand what was going on in the mind of the artist, the curator, or art historian when they created,  chose or studied a work of art. Use the Interactive Features link. There are also various multimedia resources - listed under the Explore Modern Art tab.

Some associations and professional bodies also provide resources
