  • National Curriculum Board - the organisation responsible for developing a national K-12 curriculum. Framing papers for English, maths, science & history are available on the "Preparing for 2009" pages.   
  • aussie educator - explore the Curriculum (English) resources 
  • Teachit "a huge, ever-growing collection of practical, tried and tested resources created by English teachers for English teachers."  Free registration required for access to pdfs of thousands of resources.  Paid membership allows you to edit the resources. 
  • Supasongs: Learning English through Music.   Tips and tasks for using song in the classroom show how interacting with songs, learners develop language rapidly.
  • The GiggleIT project is designed to:  improve English literacy skills; use Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) to enhance the global exchange of information and ideas between children; engage children in reading and writing with a purpose ie. an official publication; give them a feeling of self-worth and pride in their cultural heritage; and to encourage school communities to have a presence on the IASL website. 
  • Australian Children's Television Foundation Learning Centre- explore the lesson plans & teaching kits that support their TV series and  films).  Their materials cover K-12.

  • AustLit -  the AustLit database supports research & teaching in the areas of Australian literary, narrative & print cultures. Free access is available to Australian schools, and also to registered users of State Libraries & National Library of Australia.

  • Puffin Virtually Live --  Free video webcasts from Puffin's bestselling authors. If you're in the UK timezone, these sessions are also interactive.  As well as individual authors, there are also special occasions, e.g. Roald Dahl Day 2012.

  • Reading Australia -- Descriptions of a range of Australian literary works suitable for teaching, with free teaching resources, linked to the Australian Curriculum, available to download.  Primary, secondary, and tertiary level material available.  From the Australian Copyright Agency. Partners include AustLit, PETAA, the Australian Association for the Teaching of English, among others.
